Thank you to our community! For the 10th consecutive year, San Antonio Regional Hospital was selected as the BEST HOSPITAL by Inland Valley Daily Bulletin readers, and as a FAVORITE HOSPITAL by San Bernardino Sun readers. Your vote of confidence means everything – it is a true honor to care for you and your family members.
Our roots are deep in this community we serve. San Antonio Regional Hospital has been caring for area residents for 113 years. Earlier this year, our commitment grew even stronger as we faced the COVID-19 pandemic. As a hospital we are accustomed to caring for our community. Little did we know just how much our community would be caring for us.
As a hospital, we continually plan and prepare for natural disasters, mass casualty incidents, and other emergency preparedness issues. The COVID-19 pandemic, however, brought a unique set of circumstances few could have predicted.
Since the beginning of the pandemic, the hospital received requests from community members asking how they could help. The need for vast amounts of PPE (personal protective equipment) was overwhelming. While San Antonio worked to stockpile a large inventory and procured additional emergency supplies through its vendors, more was needed. The call went out to our community in anticipation of the demand that was expected to increase exponentially. The response was immediate. Donations came from school districts, local businesses large and small, and everyday citizens. San Antonio Hospital Foundation has received hundreds of PPE donations, everything from a single box of disinfectant wipes, to 5,500 N95 masks and 20,000 surgical masks. In addition, over $100,000 in monetary donations have been made to the hospital’s COVID-19 fund.
Our hospital care team members have also been shown incredible support. Children have left hand-drawn posters on our fences, praising our healthcare heroes. Our front drive has been the scene of many drive-by tributes from local law enforcement, pastors, car clubs, and others. We are overwhelmed by the generosity of our local restaurant community. Meals continue to be dropped off on a daily basis. To date, over 162 deliveries have been made, totaling over 16,000 meals! Simply amazing!
While the fight is not over, we are all in this together. Thank you for all you have done to care for us while we are caring for you.
